guarantees on-campus housing for all four undergraduate years and requires all students living within 25 miles to live on campus if they are not commuting from a parent's home. As a women's college in the heart of Manhattan, Barnard's is closely-knit and highly valued.

First-Year Housing:All incoming students are required to live on campus. Freshmen are assigned to residence halls — 110 Hewitt, 616 West 116th Street, and other buildings in the main . Assignments are based on a lifestyle questionnaire. Students cannot choose their specific building.

Upperclass Room Selection:Returning students participate in an online room selection process each spring. Room selection order is determined by lottery, with students receiving a random time slot within their class year cohort. Available options include traditional doubles, singles, and suite-style accommodations. complex (Reid, Brooks, Sulzberger) and 600 West 116th are popular upperclass buildings.

Senior Housing Guarantee:Barnard guarantees housing for all four years, which is especially valuable in New York City where off-campus housing is expensive and competitive. Seniors who want to stay on campus are given priority consideration.

Columbia Cross-Registration:As a Barnard student, you live on the Barnard campus (adjacent to but separate from Columbia's Morningside Heights campus) and have access to Columbia facilities. Barnard housing is separate from Columbia's housing system.
