Chapman requires students to live on campus through the end of their third year, with an opt-out available for students whose permanent home is within 30 miles. First-year students are placed in housing through the Fenestra Living-Learning Community system, which groups students with peers sharing their academic major. Housing selection for continuing students occurs through an online portal each spring.
All first-year resident students are required to purchase a meal plan. Continuing students in campus apartments and off-campus university housing are not required to purchase a meal plan.
