🏠 How housing selection works at Emerson College

Emerson College requires all full-time undergraduate students who live beyond commuting distance to reside in college housing. All five residence halls are located within two blocks of each other in Boston's Theater District.

Freshmen: First-year students are assigned to The Little Building at 80 Boylston Street, Emerson's largest residence hall (1,035 beds). Room type (single, double, triple) is assigned through the housing portal after enrollment deposit is paid.

Upperclassmen: Returning students select housing through a lottery process in spring for the following academic year. Options include Piano Row (suite-style), Colonial Building (suite-style), 2 Boylston Place (suite-style, newest), and Paramount Center (suite-style, above the Paramount Theatre). The Writer's Block Learning Community in Piano Row requires a separate application.

Meal Plans: All residential students are required to purchase a meal plan. The Dining Center at 122 Boylston Street is the main all-you-can-eat board-plan facility. Board Bucks dining dollars are accepted at the Lion's Den, C-Store at the Max, Backstage Deli, and Paramount Café.
