🏠 How housing selection works at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University

Florida A&M University requires all freshmen to live on campus for their first two semesters (unless commuting from a parent or guardian's home within a 35-mile radius of campus). On-campus housing is also available for upperclass and graduate students.

Application Process: Students apply for housing through the FAMU Housing Portal after receiving admission. Housing assignments are made on a rolling basis; students are encouraged to apply early. A housing deposit is required to secure an assignment.

Residence Hall Options: FAMU offers a range of housing from traditional corridor-style halls for freshmen to suite-style and apartment-style options for upperclass and graduate students. Some halls are gender-designated (all-female or all-male) while others are co-ed.

Dining: Residential students have access to the main dining facility ("The Set") and several other campus eateries. Meal plans are required for students in traditional residence halls.
