Ithaca College requires students to live on campus for their first three years. New students sign a Housing Agreement through the HomerConnect portal, complete a compatibility questionnaire, and can arrange roommate groups through the portal's roommate search or ZeeMee app. Assignments for new students are made over the summer based on submitted preferences, with first-year students typically placed in The Quads, Terraces, or East Tower in theme-based communities.
Returning students participate in a block-housing and room-selection process each spring, prioritized by semesters completed and then by random lottery number. Sophomores are generally limited to traditional doubles; juniors and seniors gain access to Emerson suites and on-campus apartments, respectively.
