Helping parents understand dorm options, safety, accessibility, and what to expect at Loyola University Maryland.
Loyola University Maryland requires all freshmen and sophomores to live on campus. Upperclass students may apply for on-campus housing based on availability.
Freshman Housing: Incoming students are assigned to one of the designated first-year halls — Campion Tower, Claver Hall, or Flannery O'Connor Hall — which are reserved exclusively for freshmen to support the transition to college life and community building.
Sophomore Housing: Returning second-year students are assigned to Hopkins Hall, Gossman Hall, or Hammerman Hall through a housing lottery held each spring.
Upperclass Housing: Juniors, seniors, and upperclass students have access to Reitz Hall, Seton Court, and Ignatian Hall. Apartment-style options with kitchens are available to juniors and seniors based on class standing and lottery results.
Meal Plans: All residential students on the freshman/sophomore requirement must have a meal plan. Upperclass apartment residents in Seton Court and Ignatian Hall may opt out of the meal plan.
