🏠 How housing selection works at Savannah College of Art and Design

SCAD offers on-campus and off-campus housing options across the Savannah historic district. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis after students submit a housing application and deposit. SCAD residence halls occupy historic Savannah buildings that have been fully renovated to meet modern residential standards.

First-Year Students: Incoming first-year students are encouraged to live on campus. Barnard Hall and Boundary Hall are among the most popular halls for new students due to their proximity to core academic buildings.

Meal Plans: All residential students are required to purchase a SCAD meal plan. The primary dining facility is Arnold Hall Dining. Various cafés and convenience options are available throughout the Savannah campus.

Upperclass and Apartment Housing: Upperclass students may apply for apartment-style housing in Dyson House or Pulaski House, which offer private bathrooms, in-unit kitchens, and greater independence. These halls are available to students with sophomore standing or above.
