Skidmore College offers on-campus housing for all four years, with approximately 90% of students living on campus. All first-year students are required to live in college housing.
First-Year Housing: Incoming first-years are assigned to one of the residence halls (corridor-style). Themed Living Communities in Jonsson Tower and Howe-Rounds Hall are available through an optional application process for first-year and returning students.
Upperclass Housing: Returning students participate in the annual housing lottery. Upperclassmen (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) may apply for apartment-style housing in Northwoods Village, Sussman Village, or Scribner Village. Apartment residents are not required to purchase a meal plan.
Themed Living Communities: Skidmore offers several opt-in living communities including the Prism LGBTQ+ Community, Multicultural Community, Global Community, Women's Floor, Substance Free Community, and Quiet Floor. Most require a short application and are available across multiple buildings depending on the year.
Meal Plans: All students living in residence halls are required to participate in a meal plan. Murray-Aikins Dining Hall is the main all-you-can-eat facility; additional dining options include The Spa in Case Center and Burgess Café in Scribner Library.
