🏠 How housing selection works at St. John's University

St. John's University offers on-campus residence halls in Residence Village as well as college-owned off-campus housing options for upperclassmen in the Jamaica, Queens neighborhood. First-year students are encouraged to live on campus in DaSilva, Hollis, or Donovan Hall; upperclassmen may apply for Century Hall, Carey Hall, O'Connor Hall, or the off-campus college-owned options.

First-Year Housing: DaSilva Hall and Hollis Hall offer suite-style accommodations with semi-private bathrooms. Donovan Hall houses students in the Ozanam Scholars and Catholic Scholars programs. A meal plan is required for all first-year residents.

Upperclass Housing: Carey Hall and O'Connor Hall offer suite-style options on campus. Off-campus college-owned options include Founders Village Townhouses, Seton Complex, and DePaul Houses, which provide more independent living with kitchen facilities.

Application: Students apply for housing through the Office of Residence Life portal. Housing assignments are made on a rolling basis and vary by class year eligibility.
