🏠 How housing selection works at Texas A&M University

Texas A&M University does not require students to live on campus but has a large and distinctive . The Corps of Cadets, A&M's military training program, maintains its own dedicated residence halls with a separate housing process. Non-Corps undergraduates have access to the general and live in a variety of on-campus options.

First-Year Housing:Incoming freshmen apply for housing in the spring, ranking area preferences. The main include the Zone complex (modern suites and apartments on campus), (large, popular first-year tower of campus), the White Creek Apartments (apartment-style for upperclassmen), and various traditional residence halls.

Corps of Cadets Housing:Members of the Corps of Cadets live in their own dedicated residence halls, organized by outfit. The Corps housing process is entirely separate from the general undergraduate housing application. Corps students must apply to the Corps and go through its own assignment system.

Living-Learning Programs:Texas A&M offers several living-learning communities for freshmen and upperclassmen, including the Fish Camp Bridge LLC, the Honors housing community, and engineering-themed communities. These are applied for alongside the general housing application.

Off-Campus Context:Bryan-College Station has a large rental market surrounding Texas A&M. Many sophomores and upperclassmen live off campus in the adjacent College Station neighborhoods.
