UAF assigns housing primarily on a first-come, first-served basis by the date your application is complete. Fall assignments begin rolling out on June 23, with the earliest complete applications receiving the first offers. Incoming first-year students who complete all requirements by May 1 are eligible to participate in a room-selection lottery; lottery times are emailed by May 11.
Students are notified of assignments and roommate contact information via their Housing Portal. Applications received after the initial window are processed on a space-available basis on a rolling two-week schedule.
