The University of Georgia does not require all students to live on campus but strongly encourages freshmen to do so. Incoming first-year students who apply by the priority deadline are guaranteed housing. UGA's residence halls are spread across several areas of campus in Athens, GA.
First-Year Housing:Freshmen apply for housing in the spring, ranking preferences by residence . The main on-campus areas are: East Campus, Central Campus (near the heart of campus), and Creswell/Brumby/ complex. Many freshmen also live in (Honors housing) or
Communities:UGA offers several LLCs,, the Honors LLC in and various interest-based communities. Applications for LLCs are submitted alongside the housing application.
(Honors):UGA's Honors Program students have dedicated housing in a recently renovated residence with integrated learning spaces and study rooms. Application requires enrollment in the Honors Program.
Upperclass Housing:Returning students can apply for on-campus apartment-style units. Many upperclassmen choose to live off campus in the dense student rental market in Athens — particularly along Baxter Street, Milledge Avenue, and Prince Avenue.
