UNM housing is open to any student on a first-come, first-served basis with no hard cutoff. Students who register during the Early Bird window (February 2 – May 1) can choose their own roommate, residence hall, and room; anyone who registers after May 1 is automatically assigned based on availability. Roommate matching for Early Bird students opens May 21, with move-in beginning August 13.
