💡 Tips for parents reviewing dorm options:

🏠 How housing selection works at University of Scranton

The University of Scranton has a three-tier mandatory residential system that keeps students on campus for their first two years.

First-Year Housing (Required): All incoming freshmen are assigned to one of the first-year corridor residence halls — Casey, Denis Edward, Driscoll, Fitch, GLM, Giblin-Kelly, Hafey, Lynett, Martin, McCourt, or Nevils Hall. Rooms are furnished doubles with communal bathrooms. Air conditioning is not provided; students may bring fans. Approximately 78% of full-time freshmen live on campus.

Sophomore Housing (Required): Rising sophomores are required to live on campus and select from three quad-style halls — Condron, Gavigan, or Redington Hall. These buildings feature two double rooms connected by a shared semi-private bathroom and are fully air-conditioned.

Junior/Senior Housing: Upperclass students may live in campus apartment complexes — Madison Square Apartments, Romero Plaza Apartments, Linden Plaza Apartments, or Montrone/Pilarz Halls — each featuring full kitchens, private bathrooms, and AC. Meal plans are optional for apartment residents.
