WVU requires all first-time freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 24 credit hours to live on campus. Students who have been admitted and paid their academic deposit can apply for housing starting January 14 by paying a $225 housing deposit through the MyHousing portal. Those who pay their deposit before April 14 are eligible for self-selection (choosing their own room), with timeslots assigned on a rolling basis from April 14 through May 8; students who deposit after April 14 are assigned a room by the university.
