About King House

A four-story granite residence hall for upperclassmen, opened in Fall 2004 and designed by William Rawn Associates. Named after Stanley King (class of 1903), president of Amherst College from 1932 to 1946. The building features all single rooms — up to 15 per floor — intentionally scaled to foster community. The ground level is dedicated to common rooms and living areas. King House is home to La Maison Française, Amherst's French language and culture theme community.
