Brooks Hall is one of the four Quad buildings at Barnard, housing first-year students in the interconnected first-year residential community. Like all Quad buildings except Sulzberger, Brooks has no AC — a known issue during September's heat, though New York's short fall window makes it manageable. Each floor has two female-only and two gender-neutral bathrooms. The Quad buildings are connected via hallways, meaning first-year residents can move between Brooks, Hewitt, Reid, and Sulzberger without going outside. First-year students are required to enroll in the Platinum or Flex 150 meal plan. Brooks is known for fostering the close-knit friendships that define the Barnard first-year experience.
