600 West 116th Street is one of Barnard's suite-style upperclass residence buildings on the 116th Street cluster adjacent to campus. Suites house 4–7 students in a mix of singles and doubles sharing a bathroom within the suite. This is a markedly different experience from the Quad — quieter, more private, and with the independence that comes from suite-style living. Rooms are furnished with an XL twin bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser. Some rooms have built-in closets; others have wardrobes. The 116th Street buildings (600, 616, 620 West 116th) are popular with juniors and seniors who want to stay close to campus while having more control over their living environment. The 116th St. subway stop is right outside.
