Binghamton University is a public research university in Vestal, New York (just outside the city of Binghamton), and one of the four SUNY university centers. Founded in 1946 as Triple Cities College, the school joined SUNY in 1950 and grew rapidly to its current 930-acre wooded campus. Total enrollment is roughly 18,000 with about 14,000 undergraduates.
