Brandeis University is a private research university in Waltham, Massachusetts, about 9 miles west of Boston. Founded in 1948 as the first non-sectarian, Jewish-sponsored university in the United States, Brandeis enrolls roughly 3,600 undergraduate and 2,200 graduate students.
