About Hope College

One of Brown's most historic buildings, Hope College was built in 1822 and served as the university's first academic/dormitory multipurpose structure before transitioning to residential use. Today it houses upper-division students in a corridor-style layout. The building's age and location right on the Main Green give it exceptional character — tall windows, hardwood floors, and a sense of connection to Brown's founding era. Communal bathrooms on each floor. Standard Brown furnishings provided.
