About Slater Hall

Built in 1879, Slater Hall is one of Brown's oldest continuously occupied dormitories, located on the Main Green between University Hall and Rhode Island Hall. The building was actually moved to its current spot after the original location drew objections — a piece of history students enjoy recounting. Upper-division corridor-style rooms with communal bathrooms (recently renovated with modern fixtures) and the classic high ceilings and character of a 19th-century building. Standard Brown furnishings in every room.
