California State University Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) is the smallest and most specialized campus in the CSU system, with about 1,000 students. Located in Vallejo on the Carquinez Strait, Cal Maritime trains future maritime officers and engineers. Students are cadets in a structured, regimented environment and complete at-sea training voyages aboard the school's training ship, the Golden Bear. Programs include Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering Technology, and Global Studies and Maritime Affairs.
