Strong Residence Hall is one of Davidson College's traditional corridor-style halls, primarily housing first-year students. Like other Davidson corridor buildings of its era, Strong lacks central air conditioning — residents in the warm Davidson, NC fall semester typically manage with fans and open windows until the weather cools in October. Communal bathrooms serve each floor, and in-building laundry is available within the building. RAs on each floor support Davidson's active first-year residential programming. Strong's location on Davidson's compact campus means residents are a short walk from Vail Commons dining, the Union, academic buildings, and Patterson Court. The corridor-style layout encourages the kind of organic hallway interactions that help first-year students form friendships early in their Davidson careers.
