Renfrow Hall is Grinnell's newest residence hall, named in honor of Edith Renfrow Smith (Class of 1937) — Grinnell College's first Black woman graduate. The hall occupies a unique position at the nexus between the College campus and the town of Grinnell, serving as a place where students both live and learn and where the College welcomes the broader community. Located on East Campus, Renfrow features air conditioning, an elevator, in-building laundry, communal all-gender bathrooms, and multiple lounge spaces. As the newest East Campus hall, Renfrow offers some of the most up-to-date residential facilities at Grinnell, combining residential life with civic engagement across the campus-town boundary.
