About Minor Theatre

Minor Theatre is a historic building that opened in 1872 as a library before serving at various times as an infirmary and a dormitory for guests on the Hill. It was renovated into a performance space in 1962 and named for trustee and benefactor Clark H. Minor, Class of 1902. In summer 2014 the college converted the building into permanent upperclass residence hall housing, giving it an unusual history among Hamilton dorms. The conversion preserved the building's architectural character while adding it to the regular housing rotation.
