About Macaulay Honors College

Macaulay Honors College is the central honors program of CUNY, founded in 2001 (originally as the CUNY Honors College, renamed Macaulay in 2006). Macaulay enrolls about 2,000 of CUNY's most academically distinguished undergraduates, who are admitted both to Macaulay and to one of eight host campuses (Baruch, Brooklyn, City, Hunter, John Jay, Lehman, Queens, or Staten Island), where they take their classes. Macaulay students receive a tuition scholarship, a laptop, a "cultural passport" (free entry to NYC museums and arts venues), and a $7,500 lifetime opportunities fund for study abroad, resea…
