About First Year North

First Year North is one of two dedicated first-year residence halls at Marshall University. A four-story co-ed building housing approximately 391 students in double-occupancy rooms. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom — a notable amenity for a first-year hall. Features include study lounges and a game room on each floor, 24/7 keycard access, free laundry, high-speed Wi-Fi, and climate control. Reserved exclusively for incoming freshmen and designed to support their transition to university life through structured programming and peer mentoring.
