Medgar Evers College is a public senior college of CUNY in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, founded in 1969 and named after the civil rights leader Medgar Evers. The college enrolls about 7,500 students, the majority of whom are first-generation college students from Brooklyn neighborhoods. Notable strengths include nursing, social work, environmental science, and the school of business.
