Built in 1816, Painter Hall is Vermont's oldest collegiate residential building and a centerpiece of Middlebury's historic campus. Housing approximately 50 students in single and double rooms along traditional corridor floors, it features shared floor bathrooms, hardwood floors, and thick plaster walls that give it a distinctive historic character. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
