About E-Complex

The E-Complex comprises six named residence buildings — Cassatt, Clement, Hearne, Hirai, Voorhees, and Waite Halls — each named for a Rensselaer alumnus who served as president of a railroad company. Built 1932 alongside the adjacent North Hall, closed in 2014, then renovated and reopened in 2016 to accommodate a larger incoming class. Offers corridor-style living for junior and senior students, with shared facilities and cross-residential community programming.
