About Grant Barracks

Grant Barracks is named in honor of General and President Ulysses S. Grant, Class of 1843 and commanding general of the Union Army in the Civil War. The barracks houses cadets in the traditional West Point corridor style in the academy's distinctive gothic stone architecture. Grant Barracks offers views of the historic Hudson Highlands and proximity to the iconic Plain, where generations of cadets have marched and graduated.
