The United States Naval Academy is a federal service academy in Annapolis, Maryland, founded in 1845. The Midshipmen compete as a football independent and in the Patriot League at the Division I level. The Naval Academy is one of the most selective and prestigious institutions of higher education in the United States, developing officers for the Navy and Marine Corps.
