Middle Earth is UC Irvine's beloved Tolkien-themed residential area, with individual halls named after locations from Middle-earth (Rivendell, Brandywine, Hobbiton, etc.). First-year students live in corridor-style double rooms with communal bathrooms by floor. The themed architecture and tight-knit community create a legendary residential experience.
