[Hyde Park — Inside Snell-Hitchcock] Hitchcock House occupies Hitchcock Hall (1902) on the main quad — the partner house to Snell. Around 70 students; literary and arts-leaning house culture; runs an annual Hitchcock literary publication. Friendly rivalry with Snell on the other side of the courtyard. Communal bathrooms; no central AC; rich historic character. UChicago students are assigned to a house for their entire 4-year undergraduate career; house affiliation persists in the alumni network.
