[Hyde Park — Inside International House] Shorey House is one of UChicago's 48 named houses — a 4-year residential community of about 70 students with its own faculty Resident Heads, lounge, dining table at house dinners, and traditions. West Tower (relocated from Pierce 2013). UChicago students are assigned to a house for their entire 4-year undergraduate career; house affiliation persists in the alumni network.
