About McNamara Hall

[Sylvan Residential Area] First-year Sylvan suite-style residence hall on a steep hill on the edge of campus. Six to eight students share each suite with a lockable bathroom door (two toilets and one shower). Lower housing cost than other areas. Located near the Sylvan Snack Bar (student-run), basketball court, fire pits, and hiking trails. Rooms are the smallest at UMass (~150 sq ft for doubles) but the suite living model provides shared common space. Building exterior has an industrial aesthetic.
