About Betsy Barbour Hall

Betsy Barbour Hall is one of University of Michigan's smaller and more intimate traditional residence halls, located on East Jefferson Street at the south edge of Central Campus. Named for Betsy Barbour, the daughter of Regent Levi Barbour who funded the building. Traditional corridor-style rooms with communal bathrooms, no air conditioning. Betsy Barbour's small size (approximately 200 residents) creates a tight-knit community. Historically a women's hall and now co-ed. Particularly popular with students in LSA programs due to its proximity to classroom buildings.
