About Bruce Hall

Bruce Hall is the University of North Texas's oldest and most historically significant residence hall, opened in 1947 and named for the first dean of women at UNT, William Henry Bruce. A traditional corridor-style building, Bruce houses students in double rooms with communal bathrooms on each floor. Bruce has a legendary status in UNT campus culture — it is one of the oldest continuously operating residence halls in Texas. Despite its age, Bruce Hall has been regularly renovated and maintains a strong community culture with active residential programming.
