Cypress Hall is one of the University of South Florida's newer and most modern suite-style residence halls, offering students a contemporary residential experience well above the standard of older corridor-style dorms. Suite configurations provide two to four students with shared bathroom facilities, eliminating communal floor bathrooms. Cypress features updated furnishings, study lounges, and community spaces. Named for the cypress trees native to Florida's wetland ecosystems, the hall is popular with students who want modern amenities without moving to an apartment.
