About Kalpana Chawla Hall

Kalpana Chawla Hall — called KC Hall by its residents — is a suite-style residence hall at UT Arlington housing 419 students. Named for NASA astronaut and UTA alumna Kalpana Chawla, who perished in the 2003 Columbia Space Shuttle disaster, the hall features double suites (two private bedrooms sharing an ensuite bathroom) and private suites. Distinctive amenities include the Kalpana Chawla Remembrance Wall, a time capsule scheduled to open in 2034, and zero-gravity relaxation chairs in common areas. The hall houses the Science & Pre-Med and Nursing Residential Learning Communities. Opened in 2004. All utilities are included.
