Dower House is a small East Side residence originally built in 1922–1923, now designated as the East Asian Language and Culture (EALC) House — the first Wellesley residence hall dedicated entirely to East Asian languages and cultures. Residents engage with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language practice alongside coursework in East Asian history, political science, and film. The house sits near the main East Side complex and offers an intimate community for students deepening their connection to East Asian studies.
