Nicolson 5, 6, and 7 are three interconnected buildings on Wesleyan's Foss Hill, the scenic grassy slope at the heart of campus social life. The Nicolson complex houses both first-year and upperclass students, with most first-years in doubles and most upperclass students in singles. Buildings feature a community kitchen, study lounges, social lounges, and a performance space. The views overlooking Foss Hill are a highlight — the hill is a favorite gathering spot for ultimate frisbee, concerts, sunbathing, and late-night socializing. Nicolson is a walk-up building with no elevator and no air conditioning. All bathrooms are multi-use, all-gender. Upperclass students can apply to live on the Substance-Free Floor (rooms 5103–5114), the Quiet Floor (rooms 6203–6212), or the All Men Single Gender Hall (rooms 55001–55009). First-year students may also participate in single-gender floor communities.
