About Xavier University of Louisiana

Xavier University of Louisiana is a private, historically Black Catholic university in New Orleans, Louisiana — the only historically Black Catholic institution of higher education in the United States. Founded in 1925 by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, it enrolls about 3,200 students on a 66-acre urban campus and is nationally recognized for placing a high number of African American graduates into medical and other health-professional schools. Students live in four residence halls on campus.
