Jane Pinchin Hall is the flagship building of Colgate's Mabel Dart Colegrove Commons residential cluster, housing first-year and sophomore students in double rooms. The building has pre-set AC/heat (a notable amenity for a Colgate dorm), gender-designated bathrooms per floor with all-gender options on ground, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, a kitchen on the first floor, and laundry on the ground floor. Named in honor of Colgate's first female professor, Pinchin Hall is known for its welcoming community and excellent all-gender bathroom availability. The pre-set climate control means students don't freeze in January or overheat during September orientation week — one of the most common complaints at other Colgate halls.
