Frostburg State University is a public university and member of the University System of Maryland, founded in 1898 in Frostburg in the mountains of western Maryland's Allegany County. Serving approximately 5,000 students, FSU offers programs in education, business, engineering technology, and the arts and sciences. The Bobcats compete in the Capital Athletic Conference, and the university's mountain setting in the Allegheny Highlands offers exceptional outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, and access to the C&O Canal National Historical Park.
