Longwell House serves as Middlebury's Italian language house (Casa Italiana), housing six students plus a native Italian-speaking teaching assistant. All residents pledge to speak only Italian in the house. The community hosts cafés, film screenings, and cultural events in collaboration with the Italian department, providing immersion-level Italian practice and cultural engagement throughout the academic year.
