Kade House (also known as Max Kade Haus) is Oberlin's German-language and cultural immersion house, part of the Oberlin Language Houses program. Housing approximately 35–40 students, the house provides a structured environment for students studying German or interested in German-speaking cultures — residents are encouraged to speak German in common areas and participate in house cultural programming. Kade House is operated in partnership with the Oberlin Student Cooperative Association (OSCA), meaning residents share cooking, cleaning, and administrative duties on a weekly labor rotation. The combination of language immersion and cooperative living makes it one of the most distinctive residential options on campus.
