Allencroft is Oberlin's Russian-language and cultural immersion house, part of the Oberlin Language Houses program and operated through the Oberlin Student Cooperative Association (OSCA). The house accommodates approximately 15–25 students who share a commitment to Russian language practice and Russian/Soviet cultural programming. Residents are encouraged to speak Russian in common areas and participate in weekly conversation tables, cultural events, and film screenings with Russian-speaking programming. Like all OSCA houses, Allencroft operates on a labor model with shared cooking and cleaning responsibilities — residents prepare meals from scratch, significantly reducing their cost of living compared to traditional campus dining.
