Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) is a private Lutheran liberal arts university of about 3,200 students in Parkland, near Tacoma, Washington. Founded in 1890, PLU is known for its programs in nursing, business, and the arts, and its strong tradition of global education and service learning. The university hosts one of the most active campus performing arts communities in the Pacific Northwest, anchored by the Mary Baker Russell Music Center.
